Gpu problems

I just bought a 30 dollar fan for my Radeon 9800 but what I got was a fan for a 9800xt soo after some tweaking I got it to fit on my card. Problem is the power cord for the fan has 3 connectors while my card has 2. If I tweak this so it will fit will it destroy my card?

One of the fan connectors is probably just the RPM data cable, just cut that out. The other two (red and black probably) will be the fan power, as long as the the voltage/current of the fans is not dramaticly off then it should be fine.

If you get the cables around the wrong way though the fan will spin backwards.
