Looking for a cell phone

Name: Anonymous 2006-10-15 17:22

I'm going to need a cell phone for my new job, and was just wondering what would be the best brand to look for?

Personally I use sony ericson, but nokias and samsungs are ok too. Just for the love of god avoid motorola.

Name: Anonymous 2006-10-15 18:39

avoid motorola if you use verizon.

gg at disabling manufaturer's phone features and then charging obscene amounts of money for 'their' alternative -cough-GET IT NOW-cough-

Ah. I'm going with T-mobile it seems, probably not much better but the building is right by my house.

AHAHA, I was actually thinking of getting one of those. Do they suck or something? They seem pretty nice. I'm trying to do a prepaid minutes plan, so my choices for starter kit are limited down to the Nokia 6030, the Samsung t209, the Samsung t319, the MOTORAZR, and the T-mobile Sidekick (not really what I'm looking for).

I was thinking the RAZR because I'm gay for bluetooth.

i actually have one. its nice. mainly because its modded to hell. you need to go searching for the USB drivers though -cough- www.motomodders.net -cough-

you can also mess with your phone by connecting it to your computer via bluetooth, although with that, you can only upload/download pictures, phone numbers, and audio(but not ringones. if you add audio that you want to use as a ringtone, you'll need to delete your ringtone.db file, and reboot your phone, causing it to create a new ringtone.db, which you can't do through bluetooth)

with USB connectivity, and some p2kman software, you can upload visual themes, games, ringtones, movies, get rid of your carrier's logo and ads that are all over the phone, change the picture on the little outside LCD display, program funlights(ringtone coordinated keypad flashes) and all that good stuff.

verizon claims 'it's the network' only because they don't believe in customer service. customer DISservice is more like it. try t-mobile, after shopping around as a pay as you go person i settled with t-mobile for a 2 year contract.

Seriously, don't get a RAZR. Like most Motorola phones, they suck. Shit battery life, clunky interface, unstable and prone to crashing.

a small part of the reason I want one!

>>9
Didn't know you could mod it so much! I'll have to check that out.

>>13
I'll definitely be checking out reviews and other testimonials or whatnot on the web before I finally decide, especially on the battery life and crashing points.

depends on what model, and who you get it from.

battery life on mine is  incredible, i charge it about once every week and a half.

the crashing is due to whether or not your carrier ahs decided to fuck with your phone software. a usb cable and some flashing software with a nice flash/flex version fixes that.
