Hey, I'm considering trying out Ubuntu. I have a Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop with the following specs:
2.8 GHz Pentium 4
384 MB RAM
64 MB ATI Mobility Radeon 7500C
Dell TrueMobile 1300 WLAN
Will Ubuntu work with this hardware or fail spectacularly?

Yes.
It will probably work with it, but Ubuntu fails spectacularly itself.

Well I was a bit curious since I've heard Linux has problems with ATI cards and (most?) wireless cards.
I guess I'll wait for 6.10 to be released and then see how it goes.

does alright for basic functionality with ati cards, and i think they are making great strides in wireless. ati makes shitty drivers for linux though.

Flash is made of AIDS. Besides that, 9 is coming out for Linux soon anyway.
