Uni campus proxy bypass

I am connected to my uni network in halls of residence and can access internet through that. They've put a loada lame ass restrictions on FTP connections, Video and Audio over IP and other shite.

I was jus wondering whether there was any way around this.

http://tor.eff.org/ will get around it, but at a severe cost in speed.  You'll have to decide whether or not it's worth it.

Actually, the speed isn't all that bad if you connect to a decent node.  I've gotten full speeds on my DSL line using Tor by selecting a proxy that has the bandwidth allocated for it.
