What happened to my DVD-RW drive?

I bought my computer about two years back with a DVD-RW drive and it worked fine.  I didn't use it very much for a while, but I recently needed to and when I opened up a burning program, it gave me an error saying it couldn't find my drive.  So I go to look at my drive and now it's just labeled as a DVD drive.  What gives?

dont worry about it buy a blu ray drive instead

It's simply broken.

mess around with the aspi drivers, you'll definately get results.
