Installing XP on a SATA drive

Name: Anonymous 2006-10-02 20:34

So I recently got a Maxtor 200gig SATA drive, and I have the drivers needed so that Windows can recognize it. I pop in the Windows XP CD, and it starts setup and all, but when it prompts me to press F6 to install addition drivers, nothing happens. I keep pressing F6, but nothing happens until it asks me to press F2 if I want a Windows recovery thing. However, my F2 button DOES work and I go into that screen. And since I can't install the drivers at the beginning, I get an UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME BSOD once setup says "Starting Windows". I tried three different keyboards, two of which were PS/2 connected, yet setup doesn't recognize me pressing F6. What do you think the problem is? The XP ISO? I'm not sure. Thanks!

You have to insert a floppy disk with that driver.
