New Computer

Name: SmartedPanda 2006-10-02 17:55

I just built a new computer. It's a KN1 LITE SLI, ECS motherboard. 1 gig of ram. 3D Fuzion 7600gt. The problem is windows xp pro won't load, I can see the XP logo and a blue screen for a split second. But then it restarts. The hard drive works perfectly. I switched it to my old computer and it works. I only have 1 single PCI-E card instead of two for sli. Also, I took off auto for access mode and put it to manual, and it loads safe mode, last known config etc... but I can't get past the XP logo screen.  Can anyone help me? Here's a link to the motherboard

ECS == AIDS == FAIL

Oh, and if you are using your old machine hdd, then you are screwed! Winfail will not load on other IDE/SATA chipset than the one where it was installed on.

Yep. Windows will refuse to boot if the motherboard chipset has changed, for "security reasons". Because we all know when we steal someone's harddrive, the first thing we do is try to boot from it. Fucking Microsoft.

In other words, you're going to have to reinstall Windows. Enjoy your activation nightmare; isn't it ironic that you're much safer and better off just pirating the damn thing?

I tried a new hard drive too, it doesn't work.

Don't change these.
