Weird network problems

Name: langley 2006-10-01 18:32

There's something really flaky about my network connection. For some reason, my computer cannot connect to the internet. While other computers on the same connection can. Just my computer can't.

I connect via wirelessly as do many of the other computers on the network I'm on. I use a Netgear 54 Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter WG111 v2. At first, I thought it could be the adapter that's corrupted. But this is a mystery. So far, my network status is telling me that I'm connected, but cannot access any site. What do you suggest I do?

Get better wifi gear or move closer to the access point, problem solved.

make sure you're connected to the local network first... can you log into the router through your wireless connection and/or ping any of ther other computers in the network. also give yourself a static IP and make sure your dns settings are correct.

stupid question ,but do you have the router setup to give enough leases for all the pcs you have ?

Don't change these.
