I've read that company's make "64 bit versions" of their software/games. If the 32 bit counterpart operates normally, why go through the trouble?

Trying to push new technology, or rather... Trying to milk more money out of people who don't know any better.

64 bit = more memory

32 bit addresses -> computer can address up to 4 gigabytes (4294967296 bytes) of memory
64 bit addresses -> computer can address up to 16 exabytes (18446744073709551616 bytes) of memory

King of /comp/, do you have enough rams?

Don't change these.
