Install foobar and run its converter. You'll need lame.exe as well.

i suggest wma to flac
convert protected wma by burning to cd -> ripping cd to flac

Get some Winamp plugin that will allow you to dump WMA to WAV, then you can encode it to MP3 with LAME or something.
