I have a problem with my power supply, the fan makes this weird clicking sound, it seems to go away if I wiggle the cable, but It'll just keep making that noise. It's supposed to be silent. Any ideas? It's a COOLMAX CP500-T. http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817159040

Obviously I don't want to resort to that if there's a way to fix it...
It's quite probable your fan is broken. Turn off your computer, unplug it, press the power button a few times, and remove the PSU. Open it up and remove the fan (but be scared as shit and try not to touch anything, it can kill you maybe.) Wiggle the fan around a bit maybe, dust it off, put it back together entirely and slot it back in - still no luck? Buy a new fan (don't worry, your "quiet" PSU would have come with a pretty lame one.) It looks like you've got a 120mm fan there, which is a good thing. Shop around for a decent quiet fan to replace it.. Panaflo or Zalman or something. That should do you - the fan connector should be one of those standard fragile little two-pin things, but be prepared to cut some wires if your new fan won't fit.
Or just buy a new PSU. But it does sound like your fan is busted, which isn't an unusual thing.

Done. No luck. Screw it, I'm going to send it back. Thanks for your support nonetheless. The noise isn't THAT bad, so I'll use it in the meantime. If I'm lucky, it'll stop on it's own from use somehow.
