Upgrading this PC for gaming - worth it?

It's an all-in-one PC, so unfortunately only the HDD, CPU & RAM are upgradable. No 3D card either, though the integrated chipset can handle older games like Warcraft 3 fine. But would upgrading the RAM & CPU make any difference, especially for newer games?

If by newer games you mean Commander Keen, Rise of the Triad, and Miesweeper, then yes.

Good luck upgrading the CPU on that ancient socket 478 motherboard, by the way. Like I told the last poster, COULD upgrade to an Extreme Edition P4 on that 478 board but it will cost more, run hotter, perform signifigantly lower than a budget or mainstream socket 775 processor. It seems cheaper, but in the long run, you will regret it.

You DO WANT a real graphics card for games, you can pick up a 6600 or an X550 for pretty cheap now, and it will do okay for newer games.

Keen series + Freecell is all the games you'll ever need.

Don't change these.
