My mouse, its not responding!

Hay guise, I got myself a nice little laptop mouse for my PC, nothing fancy, etc. Ive had it for quite a while, no problems. but  since my copy of XP isnt exactly uhh, legal, I have issues. The mouse works fine up until the software counterfitting update comes along. I didnt mean to install it, but I accidentally did. and now Im back to using a ball and socket mouse. how do I delete that update, so I can use my mouse again?
