Rolling Back Windows Media Player 10

Name: halp 2006-09-11 22:03

So I go through all the steps and roll it back, ya? It says it's been rolled back and everything, but as soon as I start up what should be WMP 9, 10 comes up again like nothing ever happened. If I try to install WMP 9 manually, it tells me 10 is already installed so GTFO. Any ideas?

Holy fuck what kind of backwater niggerville are you posting from? Speak proper english or just GTFO

I couldn't find 'GTFO' in the 'proper english' dictionary.

Serves you right for installing Windows Media shit.

Media Player Classic or GTFO.

I didn't install it to begin with, it came with the setup. MPC is good for videos, but hopeless for managing MP3s.

What? MPC != Windows Media Player. The former is a great player; the later is bullshit and DRM.

Including ``Media Player'' in your name == STRONG FAIL!!!!

I never said it was. I was replying to >>6 's suggestion that I use MPC instead of WMP.

uninstall WMP completely (control panel> add/remove programs>add/remove windows components)
install v. 9 from scratch

Did that already, WMP icons and stuff are gone, but the containing folder and a few dlls remain and refuse to be manually deleted. Guess it's time to give up.

Boot into safe mode, use Unlocker, and delete it manually.

Warning: this might hurt.

Tried 3 times just this morning to roll it back, no use.

Don't change these.
