Codecs??

So I'm using K-lite codec pack with bs-player at the moment, but the damn thing conflicts with everything i try to play >.<
some files wont play subtitles or different languages when they worked fine boefore I used K-lite (I've always used bs-play for video files)

Someone told me to try VLC, but it had problems with subtitles and made MP3 Audio files sound like shit.

So I decided im getting rid of every trace of this god awful codec pack and installing some decent codecs, but I have no idea what to install.

so /comp/ what codecs should I install???

k-lite mega codec pack. I have never had a single problem with it and it plays every movie, video, mp3, mp4 anything with subtitles or without.

Buy new hdd or format, k-lite is not the problem.

That's what I've been using, dual audio MKV files wil only play the first audio stream and no subtitles.

I got rid of klite a while ago because of too many screwups - replaced it with the >>2 recommendation and now have a trouble-free playback for everything.  On top of this, I installed 'real alternative' and 'quicktime alternative' so I didn't have to have those pieces of shit on my system as well, and now my media player classic deals with everything.

CCCP is the best codec possible.

CCCP or GTFO.
