when i try to install a game it says I need to update my direct x .. ok so that seems simple enough... I do the update and try to install the game .. and it still says i need to update direct x

b) WE'RE NOT FUCKING PSYCHIC. What game? What version of DirectX do you have? How did you "do the update"? Where did you get said update? What kind of computer do you have? What graphics card do you have? Do you have SP2?
