Anyone know of a way to enable any sort of image preview in Firefox's "File Upload" dialog in Linux w/ Gnome? File choosers for some Gnome applications, such as the GIMP or the wallpaper chooser, show a preview for images. I've tried asking elsewhere, but they all just get confused as to why I would have so many images with only numbers in the file names (damn you 4chan!).
In b4 opera and possibly Gentoo.
Gnome file chooser is the worst piece of software ever written by man. You can't expect it to be usable, free of bugs, or reasonably efficient, much less do what you want.
The Gnome folks should get ass slapped for this, they've been sucking at the simplest thing for years. Next time, please do not innovate for motherfucking fuck's sake, just rip KDE off on this, you don't have to be different to KDE or Microsoft. And no, whatever you're thinking, it's a retarded idea. No no no no, that's a retarded idea too. And that one. So just rip KDE off.

Totally agree, I fucking hate that file picker. The only good thing about it is that you can add bookmarks so you don't have to use the horrible directory navigation.

Oh, the horror!!!
Do you youngsters remember file chooser around gnome 2.6 or earlier? That was real horror compared to what they have now.

I remember... My first thought when I saw it was "WTF IS THIS SHIT!?". I thought the same when I saw the new one, which sucks less but has the added bonus that they had years and more experience, and yet they had to come up with this piece of shit. Seriously, sucky file selectors must be some kind of Gnome inside joke I don't get.
