Building a computer

Name: Anonymous 2006-08-23 15:52

So, I'm planning on building a computer. I've already spent the time to look for parts and such through NewEgg, but the problem is I don't know if they're all compatible.. I tried paying attention to the reccomendations and guidelines, intelligence, etc.. But I would like someone else to maybe take a quick run through them and tell me if they'd work or if I forgot something?

And ofcourse, a case. Would everything above fit inside of this case fine?

P.S. I already have a 5.1 surround system + nice headphones, which is why none are listed.

i recomend a better hsf
also, look at the fsb on your mobo vs the cpu.

What exactly am I looking at? FSB is 1000MHz on the MoBo, but what am I looking for with the processor? HT - 2000MHz?
Should I look for a MoBo with 2000Mhz or a CPU with 1000Mhz or?

So, I can't find a motherboard for X2 that has a 2000Mhz FSB, nor can I find a CPU that is Socket 939 which supports 1000MHz.. Will there be any major issues if I use them together?

Plextor 760A -> Not worth the extra 2x
Burner is not the place to splurge, blank media is.
Plenty of OEM 16xDL drives at less than half the price.
(NEC, LiteOn, BenQ) Why are you buying retail anyway?

I was told that a 1000MHz MoBo is pretty much "doubled" so a 2000MHz processor works perfectly with them, any truth to this?
