Hi /comp/. Here's my situation...my computer's been incredible. I've amassed a huge amount of info and various things, but I've reached this incarnation of my custom computer's life...I need to restart and reformat badly. Things are slowing down, I need to store all this stuff safely away to free up the main drive...everything.
I got that all figured out, but I need this system to last just a little bit longer before the big epic event...and I have a crapload of spyware hidden away and clogging parts of my system as well. I admit I'm sort of a newb with this whole thing, I've had a lot of trouble with it. I know for certain that a good deal of my slowdown suddenlly is because of all this goddamn spyware, so could you guys possibly personally recommend any programs at all to remove this stuff?
Virus removal and finding would be a nice bonus too, whether it'd be in the same program or separate as the spyware one. I have a couple of trojans that have eluded my grasp for a few months now.
This is not only to buy time, but for future reference and possibly use in this computer's next life. Please help /comp/, thank you.
(and please no one recommend Norton. That overrated, commercialized piece of crap caused more than it cured, I know it.)
