Too late to join Vista Beta 2?

Name: Irrelevant 2006-08-07 10:18

Is it? I know it says that it is on the site, but if I download the program through a torrent will it give me a hassle installing it?

It'd be kinda silly to make you Activate a beta...

It's valid until some time early next year.

From what I read, you don'w really WANT to install vista beta 2 anyways. Horror stories of idling at 800MB ram usage, constant crashing, etc...

Those are just rumors spread by the Great Linux Conspiricy.  Vista could be put out today and most users would have no problems, but Gates has decided that it must be bug-free and virus-proof, so the release has been delayed for the good of the public.

>bug free and virus-proof,

Yeah, right.  NO APPLICATION IS BUG FREE, and no operating system is virus proof, not Linux, not Unix(s), not Mac, nothing.

"Bill Gates" (Yeah, right.  He has very little to do with Window's development anymore) is waiting for the bugs to be at an "Acceptable Level", and for the OS to be secure enough that the average user won't get a virus using their instant messengers (talking to the right people) and playing Free Cell.
