lol firefox

My Opera is using less than half that. With 60+ tabs open. And it's been running for over a week.

Can't find image but I can imagine...

why would you want to waste precious disk space on a browser?  if you are using a legitimate os, it already has one installed
internet explorer is one of the best browsers out there.  it is conveniently integrated into the os, resulting in better functionality.  it can make up for lack of skill  on the webmaster's part, such as automatically playing movie files when they are tagged as images.  the installation of useful toolbars is a breeze, and activex makes life on the net more convenient.  why would you bother with anything else?

IE is only good if you upgrade it to IE 7 beta other than that it is a load of crap.

Firefox has a few memory leaks but this link: http://www.fwibble.org/projects/firefox/firefox-optimiser-1.1.1.xpi sorts that our for you, once you minimize it, it resets the memory its using to as if you just opened firefox

So basically they've accepted that FF's memory usage is FUBAR and if you want to use FF you'll have to live with a hack. Cool.

The memory problems of Firefox have been fixed in the two weeks I have been gone.  It now uses a lowly 180M (after running for an unknown amount of time, probably no more than six hours) "virtual memory" according to top compared to about 1000M out of my 512M of RAM at times before.

And the best thing is, no memory is leaked when I scroll.  Firefox truly is the king of browsers.

2 tabs open, 1 extention, 30 megs real, 29 megs virtual.

Don't change these.
