Need new power supply?

Hey guys, I recently bought a new hard drive and a bunch of mod stuff for my case (lasers, more fans etc.)
Now I can't have all of my hard drives plugged in at once or it hangs at the boot screen (you know, PRESS ESC TO ENTER BIOS screen). This is my first time doing the whole mod thing, so I'm wondering if I'm over-taxing my power supply or if I'm just retarded and missed something else. My hard drives are as follows: 40 GB IDE (master with WinXP), 200 GB IDE (slave), 160 GB SATA and 300 GB SATA.
Is this a case of an over-use on the power supply? It's 450 watt, I believe.
Thanks in advance for any advice, and lemme know if more info is needed.

Also, when I unplug all of the fans and LEDs and lasers and everything, all four drives are recognized.
Dammit.
So does this mean I need a new power supply to power it all? Does it make a difference if all the fans and stuff are plugged onto the same power cord thing, coming out of the PSU?

Make sure youv'e got system components on lines with sufficient power. Example: Video card on it's own, hard drives preferrably on their own (or maybe a drive + 1 fan), Cd drives can usually be together. If you really need/want all the casemod stuff like 200 fans and 35 lights, you may need a bigger or more reliable power supply. 550 or 600 may be a necessary evil depending on your other hardware. If you power supply is off-brand, too, then it likely doesn't even put out 500 watts. I always buy Antec PSU's because they run very clsoe to what their rated at, ahve good warranties and are usually very stable. A lot of people overlook PSU's but considering if that goes down everything else has the potential to burn with it, it's not hardware you just buy whiteboxed.
