I concur.

>>1 Linkification
I use Fetch Text URL. Select an URL, and it adds three options to the context menu. Open the selected text in current tab or new tab/window.

>> Fasterfox
Glorified about:config GUI (with the exeption of prefetching). Still very handy.

>> Tab Mix Plus
Before this I used separate extensions for session saving and tab extensions. It's a godsend.

>> pearl crescent page saver
I ignored it the first time I saw it, but it might be handy for /b/.

Flashblock and Stop Autoplay can turn embed flash/video files into clickable buttons so they don't just start loading on their own.

Download Embedded saves you from going into the pages properties to grab embedded files.

Save Image in Folder is pretty self explanatory. Adds a second menu to the context menu were you set up which images you want saved in which folder. But it's a pain in the ass to set up. Completely worth it.

Load much?
There's also an extension companion for FEBE which turns the backup files into self contained extensions.

I installed Bookmarks Synchronizer after I started paying attention to the way I organize my bookmarks, and then had my Windows profile corrupted; losing them all. Have to make an account on a host (ie. bookkit) though.

Download Statusbar. One up from that other download extension I used. Because Firefox's download manager is complete shit.

Nuke Anything Enhanced. What I use to get rid of shit from pages.

dragdropupload. Because browsing for images to upload shits me. This makes it a little more barable.

Linky, Show the Image, and Bazzacuda. Someone mentioned in the comments on these extensions that they go well together. Linky for selecting the links to open, and Bazzacuda for saving all images open in tabs. Both features which should be in Firefox inherantly. Show the image takes a webpage and opens the largest embedded image (which you need for Bazzacude to save it).

And the Swedish Chef extension. Bork Bork Bork.

Pft. Opera is nice, but I'd rather have limitless customization.

My favorites are:

Stylish;
Lets you place CSS overrides on pages of your choice.
Google Notebook;
Save information then access it from anywhere.
IE Tabs;
Lets me see how crappy the pages I'm developing look in IE already, without having to open a new window.

www.opera.com
Far better GUI for customising.

Name: Anonymous 2007-12-17 21:37

Firefox was pissing me off using 2gigs of ram so I just installed Opera.

Now I'm wondering how to download all the pics in big 4chan threads like I used to do automatically with downthemall/not4changrab/batchdownload

How do you do it in Opera? and not CTRL+ALT+L, that just shows all the links in the thread, you then have to CTRL+Click each image link individually, then set them to download in a batch... it works fine, but the CTRL+Clicking part is not practical for 50 images.

shift+click

Name: Anonymous 2007-12-19 23:03

links, *.jpg

shift click on first to last, right click, save to.

Name: Anonymous 2007-12-20 15:18

putting 'jpg' in the searchbox of the links window just shows filenames with jpg in them, obviously

pngs and gifs are missed, downthemall etc for firefox can get all imagetypes with one click

is there a way to get opera to show .jpg, .png and .gif  files with a single search term? searching 3 times per thread sucks.

`*.jpg | *.png | *.gif` would do it in windows filesearch, using the 'or' operator |

Maybe GUI is better for customizing, but the browser itself isn't even half as customizable.
Not even 10%.
Just look at the amount of great plugins for FF. And no, Opera doesn't have more than of 3% those functions built-in.
