So I reformatted my computer. Started installing Windows XP Home Edition. And my CD-Key no longer works. I double-checked every single letter and digit, it's precise. But it doesn't work. So I humbly ask the posters here:
Do you have a Windows XP Home Edition CD-Key? I understand I am asking for a lot.. but I really don't want to buy Windows XP Home Edition. If you have one, please let me know... we can contact over AIM or email. And you have my word I will not share the Key with anyone else, it will just be for my personal use.

Remind me and I'll generate one when I get back from work. At least a semi-legit one that will let you install. And a fake WGA update that doesn't do anything. I had a friend in college who had someone "fix" her computer (reformat for her), but he stole her XP cd key and used an FCKGW key to reinstall so she couldn't get any updates evar.

don't install home
just download a copy of pro if you're going to install a fake cd key

Are you installing from a generic XP Home CD? Does the license sticker have a manufacturer name on it (Dell, HP, Fujitsu, whatever)? If so, you should known many major OEMs use tweaked versions of Windows so you can only use *their* install disc with *their* license numbers - the license number won't work with a generic install disc.
