paperweight monitor

okay so i have a viewsonic a70f+ CRT monitor that i bought 4 years ago and never had a problem with it, i loved it. a few months ago i spilled juice all over the screen and the screen went funny so i immediately unplugged it and tried to dry the front.

it was working fine untill today...for some stupid reason i was trying to mess with the buttons for whatever reason, i knew 3 of the buttons no longer worked but the power, menu and 2 others worked.

long story short i pressed menu and tried to go down and then it  displayed "off mode in 5 sec" and continues to display that, i called and as soon as i mentioned juice spill they didn't want to talk to me anymore, not like that mattered it was out of warrenty anyway.

i'm poor so i was wondering whats the best place to get a nice, affordable monitor, i've been thinking about getting an LCD but theyre usually twice the price of a CRT so i dunno...

also, does anyone know if i could get any money for my current monitor? it used to work perfectly except for the fucking on screen controls that got spilled with juice...even then it was working fine but i had to mess with the controls -_-

You could put it up on eBay, there are some people that will buy junked equipment just to tinker. Just make sure you REPEATEDLY inform people it's broken.

just remember that shipping charges will not only mark up the price of it, but also kill any profit you might gain. your best hope is someone who will buy it locally.
