New computer problem

My friend has problems with his new computer, the following is a copy of his post..

"i just recieved my new gaming rig today that i had asked to formated with no OS, cause i didnt want to pay 150 bucks for winXP when i had my own copy at home. I also have 2 hd running on raid 0, im currently having 2 problems. 1. When i run my windowsXp home cd and get to the choose partition screen i get stuff saying unknown device or something similar. 2. There was sometime of home oem installed on my new computer. When i let it boot on its own it goes the instalation process all the way to the enter a valid cd key, im stuff  there to. How can i solve these problems?

Also, make sure the right pins are covered in the back of the HDD, and I can't help you get a windows key. It's not that hard.

1) You said you couldn't get past looking for partitions
2) You then said you could get to entering a cd key, but 1) was still a problem?
3)Asking for XP cd key
