VLC audio capture quality

Name: Anonymous 2006-07-13 1:41

Hey guys,
I'm playing around with some of VLC's unique opening/streaming abilities now, and I noticed that whenever I use "open capture device" to show what's on my TV tuner card, the audio sounds badly muffled - like 8kHz sampling, but not all raspy.

My audio input is just the line-in jack on my Sound Blaster Live, and other programs such as VirtualDub have no problem capturing the sound in higher quality, but VLC seems to lack any config options for this. I'm not transcoding the audio or anything, so it's not like I'm just converting it to a 56kps MP3 stream or anything.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this? Thanks!

You're right - if my sound card didn't even work, I wouldn't be trying to fix THIS problem. Brilliant.

Don't change these.
