I know that ddr 2 should be better, but I remember hearing that this is not the case.

DDR2 trades more bandwidth for higher latencies, as a result is only superior for AMD: at least 2.4GHz, Intels, at least 3.2GHz (I think...). Anything less than that, and you get less performance than the same system using low latency DDR.

ddr2 has larger latency values and is much more expensive than regular ddr. until the latency goes down, along with the price, i'm stilling with good ol' ddr.
