disabling a .dll?

I play on a mmo private server, and they've just released a patch that forces you to launch a new executable which pretty much just injects a new .dll into the regular .exe when it is run.
This new dll changes the packet encryption needed to log in, and it also checks to make sure that there are no "illegal" programs running while the game is running. I am a botting whore and I've been looking for a way to get around this problem for a lil bit...I was thinking that I could just log in, shut down the part of the .dll (or just the whole thing) that does the illegal program checker, and then load whatever I want. I've been toying around with ollydbg and a couple different programs...and I really have no idea where to start. I was wondering if anybody had some help for the problem at hand..or where to start looking for help at?

Check what functions the DLL exports, implement the functions to your liking, profit.

Get IDA pro, find the part that does the program check, figure out which bytes to edit to disable it.
