Advantages/disadvantages WinXP Pro and MCE?

Name: Anonymous 2006-07-02 2:26

I don't understand why MCE 2005 is cheaper than Pro.  Isn't MCE 2005 just Pro with added media toys?  Or is it more like Home (ie less networking functionality)?

mce is to xp pro as kazaa was to kazaa lite

home isnt missing much from pro. just get an ISO of pro.

Pro can join domains, but that's pointless for a home user.

Apparently, MCE has always been a superset of XP Pro.  Oddly enough, I've read a few accounts of instances where a dxdiag would tell the user that their copy of MCE2005 was XP Home.  This does not apply to the copy that I have, as dxdiag says that it is indeed XP Pro.  In short, it appears that your milage may vary.

Don't change these.
