H'okay, so my computer doesn't support Japanese text (or Korean or Chinese, for that matter, even though it says it does).
Normally, I'd install the language pack from the XP CD, but I haven't seen the thing for months and I don't have the money for another one.

Anyone got another way to get the language packs for Windows XP?

doesn't windows update still give out language packs?

No it doesn't. The only way to install a language pack on Windows XP now is to use the XP disc.

Did you snoop around your Language and Regional Options? It's in the Control Panel. From there, you go to the Languages tab, click the Details button and add an input language.  You should be able to add Asian language support from that tab as well.

You can also download language packs from the MS website. Google around, it should be really easy to find them.

Don't change these.
