Old Laptop

So I got a Toshiba Satellite Pro 420CDT with an spanking new Pentium 1 116MHz, 24MB of RAM and a 4GB disk divided in two partitions. It has an attachable floppy drive and a cd-rom drive. No netcard.

I installed mini98 on it and it actually works quite fast. At the moment I'm using it as a fancy typewriter as I seem to concentrate better when I don't have the distraction of the "INTERNET!!11!".

However I would like to ask /comp/, what would you do with it?

(Of course if I wanted to destroy it I would have already done it, so please don't suggest that.)

I suggest you install linux on it!

A GUI based OS (Mini98) vs a command line OS (Linux, as a GUI would kill the poor thing.)... I prefer the GUI.

I actually tried Damn Small Linux for a time and it was slooooooooooow. :(

Off a disc? What speed is the optical drive?

Hmm... I hadn't considered that aspect, as at the time the laptop had no harddrive. I'll try again installing it to the HD.

Nab a PCMCIA ethernet network card off of ebay. They should be like $4. I'd use such a system for the playing of old games, playing music, and as a remote desktop terminal.

I miss my old IBM. Some fag knocked it off my desk and crushed the screen. I can replace it, but it's not a huge priority. I miss playing Blake Stone on it...

I can't, as I'm not from the United States, and I have no credit card for Pay Pal.
