So I'm thinking about buying a MacBook. Reasons for MacBook: small, stylish, relatively cheap.
I only want to use it at University/work, browse 4chan and watch the occasional animu. Oh and I also want it to run WindowsXP (but not exclusively). No gaming.
Being a total Mac newb I've got a few questions:
- 512MB RAM seems insufficient, so I thought about upgrading it. agree/disagree?
- there is an offer with 1.2GB Ram using one 1GB stick and one 256MB stick. Is this ok? I remember on the PC systems I built I usually had to have either a single piece or two of the same kind (e.g. 2x 1GB). Any drawbacks with the 1GB & 256MB version?
- I won't buy the 2GHz version and pass on the DVD burner/Superdrive/whatever it's called, I already have one in my PC anyway. The saved cash will be used on Ram. Should be enough for my needs. agree/disagree?
- I want to connect my MacBook to my TV (has DVI-I in) to watch misc stuff. What cables do I need? IIRC Macs have normal DVI out, so a DVI cable will do I suppose?
Thanks for your time guys and girls (lol)!
