USB problem

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-17 13:05

Hello fellow 4channers,
Yesterday, I stopped my laptop off at 5pm. When I turned it back on at 6.30 the USB ports weren't working anymore.
They are listed as working under Windows control panel and Sandra (the benchmarking utility) lists them as not alimented by the bus but working (dunno if it's normal). Under Linux, USBView sees them correctly.
But if I connect something to either of the 4 ports, it doesn't work. Tried with my mouse (on both OSes), pad and external HD. On the second port, the optical lens of the mouse stays red for only 2 or 3 seconds (after what Windows sometimes says it's having problem detecting the connected hardware) but on the other ones, it stays turned on forever (as it should).
memTest86 tells me my RAM is OK.
Any idea, or is it a hardware problem ?
Thanks.

Don't change these.
