Manga Viewing

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-09 21:18

I am looking for an image viewer for linux where I can view all images flipped horizontally. I use a laptop and I like to see manga pages as large as possible. I can turn the laptop on the side (and its widescreen) and pages fit really nice and dont get shrunk like they do viewing normally.

I can do this on windows by flipping the screen using nvidia drivers. I know that its probably possible using the linux nvidia drivers to do the same but lets assume that I cant do that.

Every image viewer allows you to flip the image on the side but I dont want to do this for every page. Is there an application which either lets you view from the side or apply the flip transformation to each image?

Doesn't flipping it horizontally constrain the output to the proportion of your screen? Or does it run off the sides? If it constrains it then wouldn't the width and height both be significantly smaller?

It's not that big of a deal to zoom in and have to scroll down. Decent printers are going cheap these days as well.

usually manga pages are taller than they are side. they fit perfectly if you flip them on the side.

the point is i dont want to scroll down, i want to see the entire page... its not that i cant but it is annoying to do it

try comix. im a freebsd user, so however you obtain your packages should be sufficient.
although i dont think you can view the images horizontally like you say, it will scale the image to fit your screen, and can do two pages at once, which works out perfectly for manga. i dont think you would want to view the images horizontally anyway. do you really want to tilt your laptop on its side all the time just to look at manga? if anything, youll break the hinges on that son of a bitch while fapping to your yaoi doujins.

if i didnt want to view the images horizontally then why the hell would i make a post requesting exactly that

You know, I am not a fucking idiot like some people and hold my laptop by the screen. If you actually weren't an idiot you might have taken a statics course where you would learn about torque. Do the math and see that the hinges are fine. My name is George Zimmerman and I guarantee it.
