i'm in need of a free mp3 player that will work with os-x. it only dawned on me that iTunes won't play all mp3s. so what do you reccommend? i don't want anything bloated. thanks. :)
Best damn mp3 player around before iTunes came along (still works great on OS X) and introduced the concept of a library, meta-data and being able to quickly filter all my music.

I've been looking for an iTunes alternative for a while too for my Intel Mac and here's what I've tried:
- Panic Audion is pretty decent but it was a bit laggy and crashed every so often on my Intel
- MacAmpLite X is nice too but again, laggy under Rosetta
- muine is a GNOME/Mono player but I couldn't figure out how to compile for Intel OSX
- amarok is for KDE but same deal, not all libraries it needs are stable/compilable on Intel OSX
- cog is universal and open source and plays more than mp3s but pretty damn basic and ugly

no, you're wrong. cog is the scripting language used by lucasarts's sith game engine, which runs such games as jedi knight: dark forces 2 and outlaws.

mpd needs libao to be compiled and I haven't seen instructions/code for libao compiling on Intel OSX. That and the mpcosx client looks even worst than VB programs on Windows.
