Formatting CF drive

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-29 23:27

Hay guyz

So I have this 2.5 gb Seagate ST1 drive CF drive and I like... want to format it, but I can't because when I plug in the card reader and the CF drive into the USB card reader I get the Removable media drive under 'My Computer' But when I try and access it or otherwise try to do anything with it, it says there is no 'disk' in drive <pickone>

So I was thinking this might possibly be a problem with the currect filestructure implimented on the CF drive itself, considering I boosted it from an mp3 player I am going to assume that is has some warped fudged up filestructure that windows doesn't know about.

I was reading about CF drives with IDE requirements, could this be the problem?

Dear /comp/

How I format drive?

plug in usb drive

start menu -> control panel -> administrative tools -> computer management -> disk managment

see if it shows up there, and you can probably format it from there as well.

Didn't work. The USB CF drive reader was under Removable Storage - Libraries though... but I don't inject any media into it....

They probably made it inaccessible away from the mp3?

When my digital camera CF got 'corrupted' after I put exes on it, my digital camera couldnt read it or act as a medium for my computer to. So I got a printer and formatted it in there.

When was the last time you formatted it? Can you still put it back in the mp3 and format it from there?

Don't change these.
