Gaming on an AMD 4200+ X2

Name: 043 !sA3zk8HLPA 2006-05-23 10:26

I'm buying this rig for gaming (BF2, WoW, HL2/CS:S) and I'm reading stuff online saying that BF2 has problems with SLI *and* the X2 line (some saying it won't run on X2 at all).

Should I be worried?

Other notes: I plan on pushing the 4200+ to 2.7Ghz. 2x 512MB GeForce 7900GTX, 2GBs of RAM, 680 Watt PSU, XP MCE, Liquid Cooling CPU Fan.

My advice is not to be worried over incompatibilities with one damn game.

Use Gentoo.

Gentlemen, start your engines!

I don't see why you could not simply tell BF2 to only use 1 CPU.

It goes in my fucking asshole, goddamned FHS bullshit. I install software "packages" in /Software , , unless I'm forced to do otherwise, and this is not a gay prefix or a box of shit but a directory with subdirectories like Thunderbird, DDD, etc.

I wish I could buy the time you waste for myself, I'd put it to a better use.
