I'm considering buying a Viewsonic VX2025WM, but I can't seem to find any information on the way it stretches/upscales lower resolutions (for games and whatnot). Does anyone know if it centers the low res image, stretches across the full screen, or stretches but maintains aspect ratio (with letterboxing), etc etc?

Most LCD will strecth it across the full screen (that is it's not a computer gfx source). The control panel provides this option. You can either do 1:1 pixel, stretch to fit the native rez of the lcd or stretch but maintain ratio.

Most, but I'm asking specifically about the VX2025WM. Does anyone know for sure about this model?

Only Java®-enabled monitors can scale in a real-world environment. Sun® Certified Monitors are designed to simplify the way customers use them to solve business problems. As dimension needs change and resources are freed up to tackle new pixels, customers can incrementally adopt additional smoothing.
