I don't know when exactly this started but my browser no longer displays the "ಠ_ಠ" characters like they should be. They look like little squares with a japanese-like letter in the middle instead of the dotted circle with the curl at the top. I've cleaned out all the caches and erased every .plist file that has something to do with the fonts and OS but it still looks the same. I even re-applied the 10.4.6 combo updater but it did nothing. It happens in Safari(square thingy) and Firefox(question marks). I'll post a reference image on /g/ in a bit.
