login for shares on XP

I'm woundering if it's possible to make it so that when someone wants to access your shared folders that you need to supply a log-in, like in windows 2000.

Right click the Share and set permissions only to a passworded account. Make the same password and account on the other computer.

Don't come crying to me if it doesn't work. Windows Networking is such buggy shit it's not even funny.

install a ftp server and then use an ftp client (or internet explorer if you absolutely must) to transfer data

not as convienient but since you seem security oriented it may not be a disadvatage
