So in fucking around like a n00b with grub / System Commander I have managed to make windows 2k unbootable. Just goes from System Commander to grub and back.
What im asking is, anyway to reinstall 2k boot manager from the install disk?
Or perhaps "fdisk /mbr" followed by the reinstallation of grub would help?

Try it. Although, if the ONLY thing you messed with was the bootloader, that should not be enough to make windows unbooteable. Can you still access windows files in Linux? (I assume linux if using GRUB)
Yep, I can still access files fine, its just the bootloader thats fucked up.

copy the file "ntldr" from the i386 folder in the install disk to the boot partition.

This is why I keep backups of my partition table.

Use the Windows 2000 CD-ROM to enter the recovery console and try the command FIXMBR (see HELP FIXMBR in the recovery console). Alternatively, check Hiren's Boot CD out for some tool to do this.
