Disabling built in codecs in VLC?

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-04 0:54

The built in codecs of VLC aren't rendering this video properly but it shows great on MPC and ffdshow. Is there a way I can disable the built in codecs in vlc and make it use my installed codecs? I need vlc because it can take quick screenshots without pausing for a second and just a push of the hotkey which I do a lot. MPC has to stop for a while. If this cant be done, can someone suggest to me a player that can take screenshots by hotkey and doesnt pause?

And the problem with vlc is because of the varied framerate.

The Pro works faster than MPC but it pauses the video while it keeps streaming resulting in lost frames.

I need something that's just similar to vlc where the video continues playing normally.

vlc does not use directshow, mpc does.
afaik it's not pissible to make vlc use directshow.

you could try to use somethink like irfanview. it has a nice screenshot-on-button-press-feature..
