Hey guys, I am in the market for a new video card to be able to play TES:OBLIVION, I was curious. Those who play it on their PC's, would you care to tell me what video card you use. I am on a budget so I need a card that can play it fairly well but is not outrageously overpriced.

Radeon X1800XT 512MB
GeForce 7900GT 256MB
Both around ~$300 US, both perform more or less the same. 300 is right around the price/performance sweet spot, from what I've seen.

I'd choose nVidia over ATI, mostly because of ATI's fucking gay drivers and Catalyst control center.

Works fine on my GeForce6600 120mbs of ram to it.,
The 6800XT and 6800GS cards are not that expensive. Unless anything over $100 dollars is too expensive for you. In which case, you aren't going to get to play oblivion. Suggest not buying like 3 or 4 games, which will save you $120-$150 dollars. Use that money to buy a GOOD graphics card. The 7600GT are good budget cards as well. Uses less power than even the 6800GS. Has PS and VS 3.0, and is HDR ready. Only downside is that it still has 128bit memory bus. Or if budget is really important, go for a 256mb 6600GT. It should at least run the game.

I pay for hardware... well some, and how I have to pay for games too? I am outraged!

I play it on 6600GT 128mb AGP, no problems, the graphics look good and frame rate is okay. Not near as good as a 6800GS or higher though, 6600GT is the minimum for decent looks and framerate, and it will come for rather cheap also. But if you have a bit more, try something higher up the geforce line, geforce 7600GT comes to mind.

That was sarcasm!
Also, I like that there are still companies around to make good games. So I do buy them. Sometimes I download or crack a friends copy first, but if I like it, I buy it. If yuppie 'tards who are too dumb to crack games are the only people buying them, and they only like shitty games, then it stands to reason that game companies will only make shitty games, to stay in business.
