Build my computer KTHNKS ^o^

HAY GUYS
I'm in the market for a new computer. I already have a great audio card (xfi) and a decent video card. I mainly do the internets, audio tomfoolery (making crap music), a lot of music listening, play a few games, and use photoshop/imageready. However, it has been 2 years or so since I've really looked at any hardware.

My budget is $400-$500. I'm looking for a new mobo, CPU, HD, memory, and case (a GOOD one that isn't riced out with useless crap like clear viewing windows and lights). AMD cuz I am not a fan of Pentium. could you give me suggestions for a good setup that falls within my budget and maximizes performance? Individual comments about components that you find are rockrockin' would also be appreciated

Bonus question: I have my PS2 connected to my comp using a TV tuner card. The quality is okay but it could be better. I'm fixin' to get myself a PS3 when it comes out, and coudl use some advice on how to connect that to my monitor or PC in a way that is economical and retains quality. High-definition a must.

well I figure if you're able to post on a website, it must be running fine. and as of this moment, I'm posting from an old laptop with a 475Mhz processor, and it runs just fine.
