In terms of how many characters can fit on a page. The largest I've found is Palatino Linotype.
I'm asking because I have a 4 page research paper due. Any ideas?

Latin Wide. But your teacher might just cut your balls off for making him/her read four pages of Latin Wide.

Courier.
Use it and I'll chop your balls off.

Latin Wide and Courier aren't really standard Serif.. I said Serif because it's mandated. If I could use a monospace or an irregular art font like Comic Sans I would.
I mean something that's pretty much indistinguishable from Times New Roman, but has adjustments that make it larger. It's easy to find a large font or just make your font large, but I'm asking for a font that doesn't look large yet takes up more space.

It's his own fault for requesting quantity over quality.

Not really. She barely reads the essays. It's all form.
Citations, headings, punctuation, bullshit like that. I've written scathing attacks on feminism, blacks, and innocent death row men for my past 5 essays and gotten As.

I have looked at a few fonts on my computer, Bitstream Vera Serif is quite large compared to other serifs and easy to acquire.
You can also try tweaking subtly the whitespace (margins, leading...)
4 pages!?! stumbled across this while trying to find a way to make my 10 page paper longer. i could easily get through 4, especially a research paper, just take up a lot of space with information from your sources. I realize that this person is far from needing this info anymore, but this is for other people who stubble upon this page.
