Firefox no longer playing gif's

Firefox is no longer playing GIF's now for some reason. Is there anyway to get them working again? No Opera fags please.

You've discovered the gift of not playing GIFs. Animated GIFs and Flash are two of the worst ideas. There's nothing I hate more than animated gay FrontPage 12 year old family web sight bullshit as I try to read the piece of crap the stupid web designer wrote in a tiny ugly font in a gay colour.

Still, if you fancy the second part of sadomasochism, you can control how GIF files are animated. In your urlbar, type about:config, press enter, then use the filter to search for image.

The setting you want is image.animation_mode , which can be set to "none" (good), "once" (good too because you get to see it once but then it STFUs), and "normal" if you are an Internet Explorer user.

hmm even that didnt work. They are also no longer playing in IE and other software. I think i broked windows.

i know you said no opera. how about trying it now?

It doesn't depend on Windows. Maybe you have a firewall that messes with them, I've seen that happen one time. Good heavens, that's a good feature of the firewall.

I don't know your firewall, but it most surely is. It is a software firewall, right? Google for its name plus animated gif or look for an option regarding this.

Opera sucks sure there's an ebuild for opera but it just get dropped to /opt, it's statically linked, and it's CLOSED SOURCE, which means that it is a BINARY package.

go to the ZA control panel, click on privacy, click on custom ad blocking, make sure "Animation" is unchecked
