microATX = ATX?

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-25 1:24

I know this looks like a silly question, but I'd rather ask than fuck something up:
does a microATX Motherboard fit into a standard ATX case without any troubles? thanks!

No.

Depends.

If the case comes with a midget, then yes. If not, then you're out of luck

can someone give me a slightly more useful answer?

It was a yes/no question and I said no. What the hell more do you want?

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-25 7:49 (sage)

Yes.

Maybe.

Sometimes.

microATX is smaller than ATX, thus microATX fits in ATX most of the time, that is : 99% of the time, ATX cases come with holes to fix a microATX board in it instead.

If the case has screw holes in the right place to accomodate the board then yes. But in checking, you answer your own question, so my answer is really just a convoluted way of say "Why don't you take a look and find out?"

Some ATX cases have holes for microATX boards. Others don't. RTFM before you buy.

I have a full size case with a micro atx board.  The case has stamped metal risers for a full size mobo and holes for other sizes that you have to screw in the little standee things.  Turns out I used the top 6 stamped ones for regular ATX and found the three matching holes and used the standee pegs and it fit great.

Don't change these.
