Problem installing Ubuntu

When I go to install Ubuntu on my girlfriend's old computer it shits out and says that there is a problem extracting linux crc error instalation must stop.
 So I can't get far enough in the install to do anything. I had Ubuntu at least able to run before (about a month ago when I was just messing around) Any ideas what could be the problem?

A CRC means the computer can't read the disk correctly. Her CD drive might be crapping out, or your install CD might be damaged.

CD image might be corrupt, try redownloading and reburning. Don't forget to check the md5sums!

Thanks, I guess I'll just reburn the cd and throw in my old cd-rom, see if that helps.
