ubuntu issue

alright, so i got an extra PC sittin around , and i figured hell, i'll install ubuntu on it. so im installnig it on a blank HD, and after it promtps me to restart the comp so it will finish instalation, nothin happens. what do i do? it jsut keeps telling me disk boot error, enter system disk and press enter, which does nothing.

I'm amazed you've managed to fuck up an Ubuntu install. It's just as easy as installing Windows. The only thing I can think of that you might've really fucked up is your partitions, but I'm not sure it would even let you continue the install with partitions that wouldn't be bootable in the end. Having another OS on the disk doesn't change a thing, besides some more partitioning might have to be done.

Did you leave the install disk in throughout the entire thing, even after it says to reboot and it will finish? If I remember correctly, you actually need to take the disc out so that it doesn't attempt to boot from it.
